Look to the right
At the top right hand corner of the page there is a list of places you can get Rírá online. Like our own shop. Litriocht.com's shop and the digital editions where you can get Rírá 3 for a variety of digital formats. Yay!
Sketchy Sketchy 3 (Progress and colour)
So, I did a bit more inking with the Judge Dredd and Wolverine thingummy I have been messing with the past few days. It has been fun all the same.
And then I started colouring the thing. I am not going any further with it (even though this is just a quick colour and I need more practise at it). I still have to work on on that project for Coimicí Gael and get Issue 4 of Rírá together. While the past few weeks have been mostly sleeping and trying to get energy levels back up this has been a welcome distraction. So here's the colour yokeymebob.
I picked the brown costume for Wolverine because as far as I remember John Byrne and Chris Claremont's Wendigo story was featured in a British X-Men annual way back when I was a kid. This annual was read back to front and upside down until it fell apart. Comics were hard to come by ish then in the West of Ireland even though there were some shops that stocked weekly Marvel, DC Thomson, Fleetway as well as other stuff. So I have always had a grá (love) for the brown cossie. I didn't do much with the background. And the sign, well I figured Wolverine wouldn't take nicely to being told to extingush his cigar and Judge Dredd would execute the mandate on the sign to the letter of the law (I hope I phrased that sign right someone is bound to tell me). Anyway that's that. As always cheers to Marvel and 2000ad for being two of many that got me started on reading and drawing (sometimes writing). This is my interpretation of the two big lads. Good luck.

Sketchy Sketchy 3 (Progress 2)
So have it inked up a bit more. I have to add more detail to Wolverine's chin and arms. I also have a sign and wall to put up in the background but so far I don't think I've mangled the midnight sketch too much yet. Might add some colour during the week. Depends on if am conked or not in the next few days. Anyhoo, this is kinda fun. Haven't done something like this in ages. Oh and always these are two of Marvel's and 2000ad's most iconic figures in comics so yay to them. Might be as close as I ever get to drawing 'em hahaha. For pure fun's sake. Best craic ever.

Jeff Raikes Caricature
I was asked to do a caricature of Jeff Raikes for Philanthropy Ireland recently that is going to be framed and given as a present to Jeff Raikes himself. If you want to see how I came to a finished piece have a gander here. These were all taken by phone as I progressed through so apologies for any lack of detail.
First I did a few different sketches of Jeff Raikes as a caricatured drawing. Here are a couple of bits and bobs that popped up as I worked on the drawing.
The third sketch and head is what was what was chosen in the end as a part of the original drawing. Once the pencils had been done I inked the drawing. Here is the inked version:
So there you go. Cheers for having a gander.

I did a digital edition if digital colour was needed to be done and just to make sure that I had a safety drawing to fall back on. I was going to do a finished colour version with markers. The digital version is below but also the finished coloured piece too. It was framed soon after and I think sent to Jeff Raikes himself. There is a caption beneath the drawing too that I added after finishing the coloured piece. I really hope he likes it. Thanks to Philanthropy Ireland for asking me draw the caricature.
Sketchy Sketchy 3 (progress)
Um, yeah so have inked a bit of the drawing. I highlighted the pencil lines in one of the images so, there you go.

Sketchy Sketchy 3
Been asleep and stuff the past week. Can't seem to get the energy to do much but for some reason when was dropping off tonight I got the urge to sketch something. So I got up and started scribbling next thing I know I am drawing two comic book idols of mine from when I was a kid. Might be nice to ink it later in the week but for now here's as far as I've gotten. Early start tomorrow and stuff so, um, here's the sketch so far. Have to say was always a fan of both when I was a kid. Thanks to Marvel and 2000ad for keeping me entertained for hours as a kid (oh, there are plenty more publishers who entertained me too including a fair few novels).

Bleurgh
There are days where you just wake up stupid. Your brain fires on a wonky cylinder and your body says 'No!' Well this day is gonna be one of those days. Yay (it could be worse though). Roll on tonight for sleep and tomorrow for a fresher head.

Éist liom ar Bosca 106/Listen to me on Bosca 106
Bhí agallamh agam ar Bosca 106 agus má tá suim ag éinne tar anseo chun éist leis. I had an interview last week on Bosca 106 in Irish about Rírá and comics in Irish, if anyone is interested in hearing it come here.
I was a tiny bit nervous and bit breathless but overall had a bit of fun in the end.

Rírá/Coimicí Gael on film
A few years ago a few lads from Merchants Gate Films took over my old (and I do mean old looking ) kitchen and made me scribble on paper, walk about the place a bit and hand over a box of comics to a shop on film. Now they have put this along with interviews with other people in comics in the West of Ireland for a short documentary called Éirí na GComicí that will be part of the Galway Film Fleadh. The Fleadh itself is a great event (Galway always know how to do things well). A showcase of film for all.
The bit I am doing as I recall is As Gaeilge. Apparently, the short film is showing this coming Sunday at 9.00am as part of a series of shorts being shown together. Yep, that's 9.00am. I would love to go actually but I cannot make it. However if you should wish to go please feel free and attend. I wish the lads all the luck in the world with their documentary.
For further details please go here

Derek Warfield and The Young Wolfe Tones Caricature Sketch and a Tiny bit of Ink
Here we are a few hours later with a bit more work done on that sketch from earlier. Hopefully they will like it so far. Some changes and adjustments may be needed to be done but that's all part of it.
Derek Warfield and The Young Wolfe Tones Caricature Sketch
Now, after months of promising to get this done I am finally up to doing a good job on a caricature for Derek Warfield and The Young Wolfe Tones. I have been slightly ill the past few months and for reasons I am not going to go into I was not up to (wasn't able) to draw and stuff. Still ill but am told I'm improving I have me up days and me down days. Things have improved on the drawing front so have made a bit of a start on the caricature of the band as a whole. Now this is just at sketchy stages but hopefully by tomorrow I will have inks put down on this baby. Yay.
Here's how it's going so far:

Blast From the Past 2
Here is a Leprechaun image I did for Lazy Lanigans in New Jersey. Don't know if they even use it anymore but sure there you go. Here it is.
