Starting online webcomic

Once a week a webcomic in Irish will be drawn and thrown up and will be called Agus Sin Sin.  It is an experiment at the moment and the first of the comics is up now.  An English language version called And That's That will also be put up once a week.  So we will see how it goes.

Movies

Watched Citizen X there recently with Stephen Rea and Donald Suterland.  Based on the book the Killer Deparment by Robert Cullen it is a slow moving made for TV movie that is actually pretty decent.  It is well worth a look.  Slow burner of a film and as TV movies go it is probably one of the better ones.  As it was made roughly about 1995 it is amazing it hasn't aged that badly.  If you come across it I would have to say it is worth a gander.  Stephen Rea is great in it.  Donald Sutherland is cool.  The Russian accents that seem to be lightly touched on are hardly noticeable after a while.

It is about the investigation of Soviet serial killer Andrei Chikatilo who was convicted of killing 53 women and children between 1978 and 1990 in 1992.  Gripping stuff.  When I saw it first it was on RTE I think back in the early noughties, I suppose I'll call them, an some ungodly hour.  Glad I saw it again.  Really enjoyed it.  There are worse ways to spend a few hours.

Free Story Download

Hi, for the next five days until the end of April 30th Sandra Dwyer and The Squatter is available for download for free from Amazon.  Sandra Dwyer and The Squatter are two short stories of over 10000 words altogether. They are adult short stories in English with tiny bit of swearing.

Sandra Dwyer is the story of a young doctor who learns her father, the local doctor has died back in a village in the West of Ireland. Her past is something she doesn't want to get involved in again but her local parish is more than a bit superstitious and her father was slightly more open to it. Over 7000 words.

The Squatter is a kind of parody of a priest who calls around to someone who is not quite themselves. Over 3000 words.

So if you want to download these work away: Sandra Dwyer and The Squatter

If you like this Spoons and Feathers is available to download too.  Though not for free at the moment.

Sketchy Sketchy 2

This second sketch.  Warm up thingy is a little thing that hopefully in the next few weeks will bloom into something else.  Till I'm about half way through I suppose there's no point in saying much more other than it involves chickens, feathers and beaks.

It's supposed to be a Chick

Sketchy Sketchy 1

Have to just keep updating stuff here.  For my own good really.  Must get into the habit of just doing stuff and sticking it here.  On that basis and because the shakes have left me fingers kinda (I have me moments) I am just gonna post random sketches and stuff I do in the future here.  All for practise and dammit it's about time I did it too.  Batman for many people who draw comics or cartoons I'd imagine is just something one scribbles in the corner when warming up.  Well, I find I always do so here is one of the warm up type scribbles I did this eve.

Batman quick sketch.
